paper sculptures
Most of my paper sculptures and activities are designed for North Carolina WILD Notebook, which is the children’s section of Wildlife in North Carolina magazine. Each activity can be cut out and assembled. They provide the reader with a hands-on experience.
For example: By creating the Lady Bug Sculpture, the reader can examine how the elytra (the red wing covers) raise up to reveal the delicate folded wings. Most beetles protect their flight wings in this manner.
